Rutherford Cross are delighted to be working with a fast growing SME based in the Southside of Edinburgh. This company operates in global markets and due to the quality of its service offering, has experienced a period of rapid growth which shows no signs of abating.
Our client is keen to recruit a commercial astute qualified Accountant to manage the Group’s finance function and support its future growth. This is a No.1 role within finance, which has the capacity to become a Finance Director position within 18 to 24 months, subject to a successful tenure as Group Finance Manager.
Given that the company operates in global markets, experience of, or an appreciation of, transfer pricing and operating in a multi-currency business environment would be advantageous. Foreign language skills would also be useful but are by no means an essential requirement.
Job Description
As Group Finance Manager you will be responsible for managing all financial activities of Group, preparing the financial reports for Board meetings, and providing the management team with financial advice and analysis. Additional accountabilities will include aspects of ICT, personnel, administrative functions and project management.
- Treasury management including banking facilities, investments, cash flow control, and effective management of multiple foreign currencies
- Ensure UK and international compliance with relevant tax, audit, legal and insurance regulations
- Annual statutory accounts and corporation tax computations both in the UK and Internationally
- Consolidated accounts preparation at year-end
- Provide financial insight into commercial proposals and monitor project performance
- Monthly and quarterly accounts and management information
- Annual budgeting and monthly re-forecasts
- Preparation of resourcing plans ensuring all revenue is promptly invoiced and collected
- Ensure effective reporting systems are in place to manage revenues and costs
- Maintain robust financial reporting and management systems
Key Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Accountant with a minimum of 4 years PQE
- Experience in a commercial environment, ideally in an international context
- Confident communicator with excellent inter-personal skills
- Strong analytical skills and technical ability
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Commercial thinking, drive, and professionalism
- First class problem solving and decision making
- Able to perform in a dynamic working environment
- Foreign language capability would be desirable
- Self-motivated and capable of developing in the current role over time
