Rutherford Cross is delighted to be partnered with an iconic Scottish business in order to appoint a Finance Data Analyst. The successful post-holder will play a key role within the finance function in providing insight from advanced analytics in order to help transform processes. The business is undergoing an exciting period of change and this role will require someone with a high level of drive, ambition and a keen eye for continuous improvement. This is a varied and challenging role that would suit an accounting professional with demonstrable, relevant experience in an analytical role.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare reports to support the key finance activities including, group consolidation, month-end reporting across key business areas, P&L, balance sheet, cash flow
- Support the FP&A role throughout the business planning process, group consolidation of plans, and performing analytical reviews
- Support the FPA&A role to produce financial forecasting models, to support longer-term financial forecasting. Analyse past financial performance to inform future financial forecast performance
- Help prepare financial reports as required by Finance Director / Senior Management
- Support the implementation of new systems / system updates into key Finance functions, with a focus on financial data, coding, P2P, Revenue and finance processes
- Identify Finance process improvements, as a result of more efficient use of financial data, to streamline and remove manual effort
- Support ad-hoc analysis requests as required, providing timely and accurate financial insights
The Individual:
- Qualified, Part-Qualified or ‘Qualified By Experience’ Accountant with demonstrable relevant experience
- Experienced in preparing analysis and reports for senior management, numerically articulate with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable with working with multiple data sources and complex financial data structures
- Strong Excel skills up to Visual Basic Application (VBA) level
- Highly organised and able to manage large amounts of complex data in an efficient manner
- Financial modelling (desired)
- Knowledge of group reporting and group accounting processes (desired)
