Description

Rutherford Cross are delighted to be working with a leading Financial Services business to support the hiring of a Financial Reporting & Control Assistant Manager. This role provides the opportunity to work within an exciting and dynamic business that is determined to put its staff at the forefront of everything that they do.

In this role you will be responsible for the following:

  • Assist in the preparation of the business IFRS financial statements and support the external audit process
  • Production of disclosures and analysis for inclusion in the business monthly management accounts and group consolidation packs
  • Assist in managing and communicating key accounting judgements
  • Be responsible for the financial control activities for specific products or services, including operational documentation and payments, journal preparation, balance sheet substantiation and reconciliation controls
  • Design and implement financial processes and controls in support of business change initiatives, including product developments, system migrations etc
  • Contribute to the preparation of the business’s regulatory and statistical returns (COREP, FINREP, Bank of England)
  • Support the delivery of process improvements in the team, looking for opportunities to increase efficiency

To be successful in this role you will be:

  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant (depending on experience)
  • Experience in financial reporting and control (gained in industry or practice)
  • Exposure to the banking/financial services sector would be particularly valuable, although not essential
  • Knowledge of IFRS beneficial
  • Highly numerate, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong PC skills, with an emphasis on Excel. Previous exposure to Oracle General Ledger would be useful but not essential
  • Well organised and able to prioritise workload in line with tight deadlines and work effectively under pressure
  • Excellent team player with the ability to work closely with others to deliver results
  • Strong relationship management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
