M&A Tax Manager

Manchester

£45-£50K + bonus + benefits

Our client’s Manchester Deal Advisory Tax Group focuses specifically on providing tax advice in connection with UK and international transactions.   The team work alongside clients and colleagues in Transaction Services on deals typically ranging in size from £10m upwards, providing tax structuring and tax due diligence services. The team works across all sectors, though focuses on private equity, including financial services, infrastructure & consumer industrial markets.  Due to an increase in the pipeline for Deal Advisory Tax, they are now looking to recruit to increase the size of the team to support further growth.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Providing tax structuring, tax due diligence and restructuring advice on a wide range of transactions
  • Co-ordinating the advice provided by other overseas teams and other tax skillsets
  • Working closely with colleagues in Transaction Services
  • Developing relationships with the client, Transaction Services and overseas teams
  • Understanding the client's business and helping to identify areas for the provision of tax and other services
  • Being involved in business development activity

Qualifications and Skills

  • Qualified CTA or ACA/CA or equivalent
  • Strong interpersonal skills in addition to strong oral and written communication skills
  • Task management skills
  • Ability to build client relationships
  • Good UK corporate tax knowledge and an awareness of other tax and accounting areas
  • Successful track record of delivery within M&A projects through both internal and external activities
  • High level analytical skills and a commercial approach to resolving issues and providing advice
  • Ability to work as part of a team and to show initiative to drive projects forward
