As they continue to grow and evolve, they’re looking for a Group Accountant to step into a key strategic role within the finance team -offering autonomy, influence, and the opportunity to shape the financial future of a truly purpose-driven organisation that is growing and evolving.

This role is a key position within the finance team, working closely with senior leaders across the group to deliver strategic financial guidance, ensure robust controls, and support major projects and transformation initiatives. Your work will directly contribute to the ability to invest in our communities and deliver our core purpose.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Preparing monthly management accounts, with sharp analysis and clear, actionable commentary
  • Supporting the forecasting and budgeting cycles that inform strategic decisions
  • Partnering with operational leaders to understand performance, and cost drivers
  • Acting as a trusted finance advisor across divisions, ensuring alignment with financial controls, group policies and objectives
  • Strengthening financial controls and supporting audit and compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Identifying and implementing opportunities to streamline financial processes and reporting
  • Supporting integration of newly acquired entities and ensure alignment with Group financial systems, policies, and internal controls
  • Contributing to high-profile initiatives—from property developments to retail expansion and service innovation
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives and ensure timely submission of all statutory and regulatory filings, including National Statistics returns
  • Supporting group reporting activities including VAT, tax and HMRC compliance

What You’ll Bring:

  • A professional accounting qualification (CA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Experience in management or divisional accounting, or from a top-tier professional services firm
  • Strong analytical skills and Excel expertise
  • Confidence in engaging with senior stakeholders and influencing decisions
  • A proactive, curious mindset and a desire to grow with the business
  • Experience in multi-entity or multi-sector environments is a strong advantage
