Interim Tax Manager – Remote (UK, preferably Scotland) – 9-Month FTC with Potential to Go Permanent.

Are you an experienced tax professional seeking your first step into industry? This is a rare opportunity to join a highly specialised, elite in-house tax team within a global biotech business – on a fully remote basis.

We’re looking for a Tax Manager with 6–7 years of practice experience to take on a 9-month interim role (until February 2026), covering a broad and engaging remit. If you’ve been curious about transitioning to industry but want to test the waters first – this is your chance.

Key Responsibilities

The role will be approximately 60% compliance focussed, working on VAT compliance and filings, corporate tax reporting and submissions, liaising with HMRC and external advisors. There will be a 40% Advisory & Strategic Input, reviewing and refining tax policies and internal procedures, providing insight on emerging tax issues and regulatory changes, supporting business decision-making from a tax perspective.

Ideal Candidate

• 6–7 years’ experience in a reputable tax practice environment
• Strong UK VAT and corporate tax knowledge
• Highly communicative and confident engaging with both internal stakeholders and HMRC
• Inquisitive mindset – always keen to understand the “why” as well as the “what”
• Disciplined, self-motivated, and able to manage competing priorities independently
• Eager to gain exposure to industry with a hands-on, collaborative team
