Interim Head Office Accountant job (Hybrid) with a global energy solutions business based in Glasgow for a 12-month period.

Reporting to the Head of Group Reporting, you will be responsible for:

• Acting as the key business partner for senior executives and senior functional leaders (Finance, HR, Treasury, Tax, HSE) to help them manage their departmental budgets and forecasts and to present insights on areas of improvement and cost savings
• Preparing updated departmental profit and loss account on a monthly basis and discussing the results with the departmental heads
• Preparing annual budgets incorporating key initiatives which will help to drive business performance
• Working with the Treasury and tax departments to ensure that the most optimal funding and tax structures are put in place
• Preparing monthly management accounts and statutory accounts
• Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Main contact for external audit
• Intercompany invoicing
• VAT returns
• Supervising and aiding the ongoing development of two finance team members

To apply, you will be a Fully Qualified Accountant or time served individual with excellent technical and analytical accounting skills. Senior Stakeholder management experience is essential, alongside the ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial individuals. The ideal candidate will be comfortable leading and directing under pressure and to tight deadlines. ERP systems knowledge and strong Excel skills are preferred.
