Rutherford Cross is pleased to be partnered again with one of our key clients in Glasgow City Centre to appoint a Management Accountant. This role is newly created following a substantial period of business growth and represents a great opportunity for a part-qualified / qualified by experience accountant to join a global business in a fast-paced and varied role.

Ideally, we are looking to engage with individuals who have a solid track record of Management Accounts production. It would be advantageous if you have previous experience working in a business dealing with major contracts, however, this is not an essential requirement. On offer is a great compensation package and a hybrid / flexible working model.

The primary focus of this role is the preparation of divisional management accounts and reports, as well as maintaining control over balance sheet accounts. The role involves working closely with operational managers in both providing and obtaining information.

Key Responsibilities:

• Achieving internal and external deadlines
• Working closely with the Finance Manager to ensure department targets are achieved
• Preparing monthly management accounts and customer reports
• Assisting with the preparation of annual budgets
• Coding and categorising costs (E.g., capex & extra to contract) to meet customer requirements
• Divisional P&L
• Preparing balance sheet reconciliations
• Controlling WIP Balance sheet account
• Preparing and submitting VAT Returns
• Responding to requests for information and analysis from operations colleagues
• Dealing with ad hoc customer requests within required deadlines
• Preparing audit files and assisting external auditors during fieldwork
• Reviewing management accounts against budget and producing commentary on variances
• Preparing weekly cash flow forecast
• Liaising with group finance teams to agree intercompany recharges and balances
• Supporting and training team members
