Assistant Finance Manager

Rutherford Cross is delighted to be partnered with a leading educational body to aid in the acquisition of an assistant finance manager that is going to offer a good progression route into a more senior capacity.

In this role you will be responsible for the following:

• Assist with the preparation of group management accounts
• Prepare budgets and annual accounts for the business entities
• Prepare financial analysis, KPI and cost reports as required
• Manage VAT for the companies and Making Tax Digital
• Assume full responsibility for the Fixed Asset register and leasing contracts
• Assume ownership of the Investment portfolios, including day-to-day work with the external Investment Manager and reconciliation of the portfolios

To be successful in this role you will be:

• Suitably qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA)
• Proven experience gained in a similar role within a professional environment. Previous experience of working within the Education and/or Charity sector(s) is an advantage but not essential.
• Strong organisation skills and an ability to prioritise to ensure that tasks are completed on time and to a high standard
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, leading by example and with integrity
• Previous line management experience and the ability to effectively support and develop colleagues
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
