Description

Our client is a global market leader with their EMEA headquarters based in Glasgow. Due to an internal promotion, they are seeking a qualified accountant, ideally from a large corporate background, to fulfil the role of Finance Manager. This is a broad, strategically focused role giving exposure to business partnering, change management and people development.

Main responsibilities will be:

  • Developing a strategy for a whole department dealing with EMEA accounts payables
  • Allocating resources within the department
  • Developing and implementing processes, ensuring quality of customer communication
  • Reviewing existing processes and introducing improvements
  • Managing control systems and procedures
  • Maximising opportunities to improve cash management processes
  • Managing a team, allocating activities, coaching, developing and delegating, according to agreed goals and performance indicators
  • Proactively managing process performance, taking into account compliance issues
  • Accounts payables project management, organising resources and schedules, with a view of improving processes and procedures
  • Building strong relationships with larger clients and internal stakeholders
  • Ensuring the highest possible standard of customer service
  • Monitoring and preparing monthly profit plans
  • Liaising with other members of the senior management team in achieving overall organisational goals

To apply for this role, you should possess the following skills and attributes:

  • A qualification in accountancy and extensive accounts payable knowledge
  • Proven experience in managing a finance team/ department
  • Strong leadership and strategic development skills
  • Proven track record in introducing process improvement measures and managing and communicating issues
  • High business acumen, ability to develop internal and external relationships
  • Project management skills
  • Skilled communicator, able to relate to people across all countries, cultures and backgrounds
  • Exceptional organisational skills
