Description

Tennent Caledonian is Scotland’s pre-eminent brewer. Based at the historic Wellpark brewery in Glasgow, they brew an industry-leading portfolio of beers, led by the iconic Tennent’s Lager and Caledonia Best along with the recently launched Black T, for home and export markets across the world, including the USA, Canada and Europe.

The company employs over 300 people across the production and commercial arms of the business. Since 2009, Tennent Caledonian has been part of C&C Group plc, the company behind the successful international Magners cider brands.

To provide its Scottish customers with a “one - stop - shop” for all their alcoholic and soft drinks needs and as part of a strategy of developing a multi-beverage platform in the Scottish drinks market, C&C Group acquired Wallaces Express, Scotland’s largest wines and spirits wholesaler, in March 2014.  The enlarged Scottish business delivers an outstanding full portfolio offering to the Scottish independent on-trade, providing ongoing support to their customers across Scotland.

The Tennent Caledonian business has annual revenues in the region of £300m and in the year to 28 February 2015 operating profits were in excess of £33m. Total volume sold in the year to February 2015 was 1,300 kHL which equates to over 225 million pints!

Tennent Caledonian’s strategy is to continue to grow the Tennent’s and portfolio brands through brand and customer investment and by developing a brand led, multi beverage wholesale platform established through the acquisition of Wallaces Express.  This growth will come both organically and through potential acquisitions which could complement business and strategic objectives.
