Description
Rutherford Cross is delighted to be working in partnership with a Glasgow based, PE business to appoint a Fund Accountant.
The company has a successful track record of structuring investments for tax efficiency and income, including managing a large VCT qualifying portfolio, and also provide direct access for professional clients to co-invest in a range of attractive private equity and property opportunities.
Duties include:
- Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts and financial and management reporting for listed Venture Capital Trusts and limited partnerships
- Managing the financial ledgers and accounting processes in relation to the funds and ensuring that appropriate systems and internal controls are implemented and maintained
- Performing regular bank and asset reconciliations
- Calculation of income and expense accruals
- Administration of loan drawdowns, investments and distributions
- Preparation of board papers, budgets, forecasts and revenue estimates on a quarterly basis
- Various ad hoc initiatives as directed by the Head of Fund Accounting/Finance Director
- Providing cross-cover for the other fund accountants when business needs dictate
Skills and Experience;
- Accounting qualification essential
- Previous financial control, financial accounting and management reporting experience essential
- Previous experience as a fund accountant is desirable but not necessary
- The candidate should be confident, a self-starter, with the ability to operate in a dynamic environment
- They must be able to demonstrate outstanding attention to detail, good judgement showing logical decision making, and a hands on approach
- Computer literate with strong excel skills and solid understanding of accounting software principles, previous experience of SAGE accounting package desirable
- Excellent organisational skills
- Excellent time management and adherence to deadlines
