This Top 10 International Firm has a current requirement to expand their Tax Valuations team in Scotland by the appointment of a Valuations specialist.  As a Manager in this specialist area you have responsibility for managing a portfolio of valuation clients and be responsible for the timely delivery of services. You will support Directors and Partners with work, build excellent client relationship and initiate marketing and business development projects.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • To act as a key point of contact within the firm for the client, together with the Partner. This will involve responding quickly to, as well as anticipating, client requests/needs, keeping clients informed of progress in relation to all aspects of the service provided, and maintaining regular contact with clients
  • Manage client relationships
  • Complete and deliver share and business valuation advice, in accordance with relevant instructions.
  • Assist more senior members of staff in the completion of larger valuation projects
  • Carry out valuations for a variety of purposes including tax, commercial, legal and accounting standard purposes, and have a comprehension of the relevant legal requirements relating to such
  • Carry out valuations of a wide variety of share and business assets, including intellectual property and other intangible assets
  • Carry out relevant technical research, and the dissemination of knowledge
  • Deliver talks, by way of seminars and courses, both internal and external, on the subject of valuations
  • Recruit, retain, develop and motivate the group’s employees. This includes participating in recruitment, ensuring job appraisal documentation is completed within deadlines, and ensuring appropriate objectives and development plans are in place for counselees
  • Review of work prepared by more junior members of staff
  • Liaise with HMRC
  • Manage the billing and cash collection in respect of relevant valuation projects
  • Identify and recognise business and sales opportunities and informs the partner and client as appropriate
  • Act as an ambassador of the firm, participate in marketing events, keep abreast of the wide range of services the firm offers and suggest innovative products and services
  • Maintain a network of professional and business contacts
  • Support Partner and managers on ad hoc assignments as required
  • To ensure assignments are completed within agreed budgets and keep client/Partner /Principle informed of overruns and plan staff assignments in order to give an appropriate spread of experience
  • Ensure that the firm’s quality control procedures are adhered to including second partner review
  • Identify risk and technical matters, as well as selling opportunities, to the Partner/Principle/ Senior Manager, whilst exercising judgement within agreed parameters.

 

Requirements

  • A professional qualification in accountancy, or other related financial discipline.
  • Staff management experience
  • Corporate Tax experience with knowledge of Valuations would be ideal
  • Ability to profitably manage a client portfolio
  • To actively seek opportunities for developing new clients and for selling new services to existing clients
  • Experience of dealing direct with clients
  • Educated to degree level
  • Demonstrable post qualified experience
