Rutherford Cross was delighted to host its third annual Charity Football Tournament on Friday the 14th of June. This year our chosen charity was CHAS and so far the event has raised close to £1400 with more contributions expected in the coming days. We were pleased to host 16 teams:

Following hard fought quarters and semis, the final was contested by Loganair and Grant Thornton, with the airline business coming out on top with a 3-0 score line. Earlier in the competition we witnessed an “Archie Gemmell-esque” wondergoal from Scott Smith of Robertson Group.
It was great to see so many participants stay behind for a few drinks in the bar area afterwards and everyone having such a good time. We’re looking forward to hosting next year’s tournament, although our own team will need to put in some serious training between now and then if we are to avoid a repeat of this year’s lacklustre performance!
