Rutherford Cross held it’s first Interim CFO/FD Group meeting virtually last week with a number of experienced CFOs and Finance Directors who are working on the interim market across Scotland in attendance. After introductions the conversation centred on three key themes: current view of the market, sourcing interim assignments, and approach to delivery of assignments as an Interim CFO or FD. There was some very interesting insight on where interim CFO/FD opportunities are arising, how these are being sourced or identified and how beneficial a good interim CFO/FD can be for a lot of businesses.
At Rutherford Cross we are seeing interim opportunities not only with businesses who are performing strongly but also with companies where there is a distressed angle whether sector or business model related. We have experienced a higher demand for Interim FDs from e-commerce scale up businesses and candidates with connections and a track record with Private Equity are also sought after.
