DC Thomson has an impressive portfolio of newspapers, magazines and books and has diversified into new media, digital technology, retail, radio and television through investment interests.
Heather was appointed as CFO at DC Thomson in early 2017 after 13 years working for another high profile Scottish company, Baxters Food Group. Heather qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Ritsons before moving to Baxters in 2003 where she performed a number of financial, strategic and business roles, culminating in her promotion to CFO in 2014. At Baxters, she was at the heart of building a profitable global business from £75m UK only based, to £300m with 9 manufacturing sites in 5 countries. Heather is also a Non-Executive Director at the Scottish Chambers of Commerce.
At this exclusive breakfast, Heather will share her career journey to CFO and her thoughts on working for two of Scotland’s largest family owned businesses.
