Rutherford Cross is delighted to be supporting a highly reputable financial services company to recruit into the role of Treasury Finance Manager (Securitisation). This is a great opportunity for a professional with experience in accounting for Securitisation to advance their career as part of a collaborative team. The role can be done remotely with an expectation of meeting with the team in person once a quarter in the Glasgow office.

The Individual:

  • ICAS or equivalent qualified
  • Significant experience in accounting for Securitisation and Covered Bond programmes
  • Significant experience in accounting for other Treasury Funding products
  • Experience in source system booking models and system investigation
  • Experience in management reporting
  • Experience of production of statutory accounts.
  • Significant experience in the use of and application of analytics and key business metrics
  • Effective reporting content and layout development
  • Experience in communicating to various senior audiences
  • Senior stakeholder management
  • Experience in explaining complex and technical accounting matters in straightforward terms to business partners and wider stakeholder community
  • Experience in spreadsheet management and modelling

The Role

Context:

This role reports to the Treasury Finance Lead Manager and exists to provide a technical and business awareness ‘skill set’ in relation to the accounting for Securitisation and provision of management reporting to support business strategies, targets, and objectives.

This role will support the Treasury Finance Lead Manager in managing the image and reputation of Financial Reporting as measured through enhanced understanding of management reporting requirements from Finance and Treasury and feedback on quality of interaction.

Responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the production of the Treasury management accounts including a full balance sheet and P&L in respect of Securitisation activity
  • Provision of commentary on monthly and YTD movements and variance between actual v forecast results
  • Oversees the financial accounting and control of Securitisation and Covered Bond Programmes, from source system and deal bookings through to external financial and regulatory reporting
  • Ownership of the Finance side of establishment of new Securitisation structures or vehicles
  • Provides input / insight into the financial accounting and control of other Treasury Funding balances including, but not limited to; MTNs, AT1, Subordinated debt, money market, repos etc
  • Provision of technical accounting advice on securitisation and covered bond structures and / or restructures
  • Advises on deal bookings within Calypso and Kapiti
  • Maintaining awareness of IFRS exposure drafts and guidance notes as related to Treasury funding products and transactions, coordinating policy development and implementation
  • Responsible for ensuring the team prepare appropriate insight and analysis for inclusion in the Treasury Management Accounts in a timely and controlled manner
  • Playing a significant role in supporting delivery of the Treasury planning and forecasting process and explaining variances thereafter
  • Ability to understand source systems, data feeds and how to translate accounting requirements into system rules
  • Ownership of Calypso and Kapiti accounting rules and mappings as related to securitisation
  • Responsible for ensuring that all technical updates as advised by the Accounting Policy Manager are implemented without delay
  • Support the year end and interim statutory accounts delivery within tight deadlines
  • Ensuring documented processes and controls are in place to deliver accurate financial metrics as well as designing and implementing initiatives to improve the financial governance as measured through number of audit findings (internal and external)
  • Sharing knowledge and information proactively with key senior contacts and assisting them in identifying and addressing issues and future requirements
  • Providing insight and support to other Finance and Treasury stakeholders through the development of targeted and high-quality analytics and MI
  • Maintenance of business process and control documentation relating to securitisation and funding
  • Oversight of P&L and Balance sheet reconciliation of relevant accounts
  • Ownership of related Regulatory returns (e.g., FINREP)
