Rutherford Cross are working in partnership with a large accounting client based in Brussels to recruit a Senior Accountant for the International accounting team who are experiencing growth within the European region.

The role will involve working with an international client base providing accounting and tax services and working closely with specialised services, advising clients of risks and financial opportunities. The role will involve conversion reporting from GAAP or IFRS to local GAAP depending on your skill set. Month end management reporting and tax computations, this role will also cover statutory reporting. There will be occasional travel but in the main will be based out of the Brussels headquarters. Supervisory of more junior members of the team will be required.

Brussels is the capital and largest city of Belgium and the de facto capital of the European Union. It is also the largest urban area in Belgium, comprising 19 municipalities. The city has a population of 1.2 million and a metropolitan area with a population of over 1.8 million, both of them the largest in Belgium. The gastronomic offer includes approximately 1,800 restaurants, and a number of high quality bars. Belgian cuisine is known among connoisseurs as one of the best in Europe.

Serving as the centre of administration for Europe, Brussels' economy is largely service-oriented. It is dominated by regional and world headquarters of multinationals, by European institutions, by various administrations, and many financial services companies have their base here. Brussels has a robust economy. Its GDP per capita is nearly double that of Belgium as a whole.

To be considered for this role you will have at least 3 years’ experience and no more than 8, from either an accounting, audit or tax background and have experience in either UK, Polish, German, Spanish, Italian, Belgian, Lux or Dutch GAAP as well as IFRS and/or US GAAP. Preferably a Masters of a professional accounting qualification is expected as well as fluent English and ideally one other European language.
