Description
Interim Head of Finance job for an initial 6-month period with this exciting new start up to be based in Glasgow. Reporting to the CFO the main duties and responsibilities include:
- Establish systems, processes, procedures and a chart of accounts for the business
- Prepare monthly management accounts including profit & loss and balance sheet
- Production of year end statutory accounts and liaison with external auditors
- Produce reports for presentation to the Board
- Working with budget holders set budgets and update rolling forecasts
- Produce actual Vs forecast variance analysis
- Balance Sheet and Bank reconciliations
- Prepare supplier payment runs
- Complex Contract Accounting analysis and liaison with external partners
- Quarterly VAT Returns
- Management of monthly payroll for the business
- Support the recruitment and leadership of the finance team
You will be a fully qualified accountant with previous experience at Financial Controller or Head of Finance level. You will have first class communication skills comfortable in liaising with both internal and external stakeholders and have a strong commercial acumen. You will also have a strong budgeting and project management skillset. It would be advantageous if you have experience of working in a start-up role before in your career and have the flexibility and mindset to thrive in a fast growing new enterprise. This role will support remote or hybrid working. Salary: £competitive p.a. plus benefits or day rate equivalent.
