Description

Rutherford Cross is working with a business based in Ayr to recruit for a Head of Finance. The company form part of a wider group, and the role of Head of Finance will form part of the Leadership Team reporting into the Managing Director. The role will have full responsibility for; financial control, production and integrity of the financial information, and reporting to the Board. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and positive candidate to add value, and join the business at an exciting time in its growth plans. A summary of some of the key duties are below:

  • Participating constructively as a member of the Leadership team
  • Collaborating with the Leadership Team in creating company objectives and cascading these down through the Finance Team
  • Providing direction and leadership to the Finance Team
  • Providing the Leadership Team with immediate and long term financial projections to assist with decision making
  • Ensuring that the Finance function has adequate financial processes, systems and controls and that these are implemented appropriately in the business
  • Monitoring financial performance and systems and controls
  • Maintaining effective management accounting processes and reporting
  • Reporting to Group on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis through Group reporting software within strict timelines
  • Responding to ad hoc Group information requests including any requirements in relation to US GAAP reporting
  • Managing the relationship with the external auditors
  • Leading and managing the production of materially stated annual statutory reports and accounts
  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable taxes
  • Maintaining control of the company’s financial assets and compliance with regulatory capital requirements
  • Cash and working capital management - linking in with Group Treasury
  • Responsiblity for the provision of Finance services in accordance with a service level agreements with other group companies
  • Reviewing financial reporting software and systems, and implementing recommended changes
  • Monthly KRI Reporting
  • Considering and recommending ways to improve future growth and performance
  • Contributing to the promotion of health, safety and wellbeing of all staff
  • All other reasonable duties as requested by the Managing Director

The successful candidate will be a fully qualified accountant with previous experience of working in a similar role. Sound commercial judgement is key as well as being able to identify opportunity for improvement and able to manage the implementation.
