Description

Rutherford Cross is delighted to be working with an SME organisation based in central Glasgow to recruit for a Group Financial Controller on a permanent basis. Working with a global business, this is an exciting opportunity offering a hands on role with plenty of autonomy. A summary of some of the key duties are below:

  • Preparation and review of the Group consolidated and subsidiary monthly management accounts including variance analysis and commentary
  • Creation of the monthly board pack comprising of all primary financial statements (P&L, B/S & Cashflow) and other supporting schedules as required
  • Preparation and submission of the monthly group reporting pack within tight deadlines
  • Act as a key point of contact for the auditors leading the audit process from planning to signing of the financial statements
  • Review all Group Balance Sheet reconciliations and identify any areas for concern
  • Ensure compliance with all corporation and other tax requirements for all group companies, liaising with external advisors and government agencies as required
  • Preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns for all UK and overseas companies within relevant deadlines
  • Preparation of the annual consolidated budgets and in-year re-forecasts
  • Responsible for establishing/reviewing Group financial controls, ensuring the robustness of the systems and that the controls minimize financial risk and are scalable as the business continues to grow
  • Ensure effective management of cashflows through robust forecasting and review/approval of all supplier payments
  • Management and support of a team that includes a Management Accountant, Accounts Payable, Treasury and a Finance Assistant
  • Provide financial assistance to other departments as and when required
  • Act as the key contact during the Group’s annual insurance policy renewal ensuring adequate cover is in place
  • Perform Ad-hoc project work to support the Group CFO
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders as required

For this role the company are seeking a fully qualified accountant who has experience at Finance Manager/Controller level. The ability to be organised to meet reporting deadlines as well as ensure accuracy when handling large amounts of data is key. Experience of working with ERP systems is desirable also. The company are offering an attractive salary of up to £60,000 DOE as well as excellent benefits including hybrid working.
