Salary: Up to £65k (dependent on experience)
Rutherford Cross is delighted to be working with a successful, family-owned, retail business based in Falkirk in order to appoint a Group Accountant. The role requires a self-motivated and focused person who will quickly establish themselves as a key contact for Management Information for the business. Ideally, this position would suit a Qualified (CA,ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or ‘Qualified By Experience’ Accountant with prior experience working within a similar role.
The Group Accountant will report directly into the company directors and will be responsible for the smooth running of the accounts function, delivering timely and accurate management accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monthly management accounts – provide detailed analysis and commentary which will involve extensive liaison with the General Manager and Directors
- Prepare monthly management accounts, using Excel and reports extracted from system
- Supervision of the accounts staff
- Analytical support across the business, evaluating profit optimisation
- Review of capital and project appraisals
- Consolidation of group budgets and forecasts
- Investigative and analytical exercises as required
- Any ad hoc projects as required
The Individual:
- Strong technical and analytical accounting skills
- Previous accountancy experience in a similar role
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Previous experience of using Kerridge/CDK is preferred
