Rutherford Cross is delighted to be exclusively working with an exciting, high growth technology business based in Edinburgh looking to appoint a FP&A Manager into their growing finance team. This is a newly created role and would suit an ambitious, innovative accountant with a background in commercial finance or corporate finance and will report into the Head of FP&A.

This role will have an EMEA-wide focus, providing financial reporting, analysis and planning support to all commercial and functional areas of the EMEA business.   There will also be a significant ad hoc element to the role, working on a variety of projects to support our growth, therefore you will need to be able to quickly get up to speed, be comfortable working under pressure and up for a challenge.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide business partner support to a wide range of stakeholders, supporting them in achieving their monthly and annual targets
  • Delivery of the EMEA annual budget and quarterly forecasts for expenditure and headcount, ensuring accurate and meaningful assumptions are used
  • Develop, enhance and present monthly financial packs for the EMEA regions to contain detailed, insightful analysis and explanations to support key variances including P&L analysis, actual vs budget/forecast, trends, headcount, tracking scorecards
  • Develop detailed cost centre analysis, enhancing reporting, oversight and overall accountability
  • Develop and monitor KPI’s / metrics, analytically assessing data to make correlations between connected areas to enhance discussions and allow Leadership to focus on key areas / make decisions
  • Work with Finance and Business professionals to improve existing processes within the Finance team
  • Work with other FP&A teams across the globe to consolidate data for key projects and presentations
  • Work with other areas of the EMEA Finance team to optimise internal processes and reporting tools to ensure efficient data production
  • Support EMEA FP&A Head on various ad-hoc projects e.g scenario planning, pricing proposals, presentations, business reviews etc

 

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • Professional Accountancy qualification – CA/ACCA/CIMA
  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3+ years of post qualification experience
  • Proven ability to partner with senior stakeholders and ability to forge effective business relationships
  • Working knowledge of Hyperion would be preferred
  • Working knowledge of Tableau would be preferred

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to form and develop relationships
  • Related experience working in FP&A, Business Partnering, or Corporate Finance within Professional Consultancy
  • Proficient in all Microsoft applications especially in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, filters) and PowerPoint
  • Able to work with large data sets from multiple systems and make good business judgment when necessary
  • Must have a commercial and curious mindset and be able to analyse and understand financial data and be able to simplify and communicate outputs to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Understand general accounting/finance principles (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, month-end close process/reporting, accruals/prepaids, GAAP/Non-GAAP reporting)
  • Able to produce multiple key deliverables under tight deadlines and fast turnaround times during certain periods without sacrificing accuracy and presentation
  • Excellent verbal/written communication
