Description

Rutherford Cross is excited to be partnering with a hugely successful, Glasgow based business to appoint a Finance Business Partner. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant with the ability to engage and influence non-finance stakeholders. Month end and year end activities, include:

  • Completion of accurate and timely divisional monthly management accounts
  • Provide monthly detailed variance analysis against prior month forecast and budget
  • Responsible for monthly forecasting and escalating any risks or opportunities
  • Provide monthly financial updates and support the senior leadership team
  • Present results, cost saving initiatives, run rate analysis etc at a quarterly review meeting with the Group Financial Controller
  • Track capital spend against budget
  • Manage the R&D tax rebate process

 

Budgeting duties include:

  • Business partner with cost centre owners in the preparation of their budgets
  • Accountable for the timely preparation of annual budget
  • Work with the Divisional Director to produce a budget presentation for CEO/CFO review  

Project exposure includes:

  • Drive process improvement for month end procedures
  • Provide financial support for budget owners of major capital projects, including support in creating business cases to ensure that financial measures are robustly supported and well documented.
  • Responsible for all project resourcing and ensuring all initiatives are adequately resourced whilst providing challenge and rigour to any contract requests and creating and administering internal process
  • Assist with deep dive reviews as required and challenge initiative leads on financial tracking
  • Co-ordinate and manage the post investment review process
  • Support the commercial process and review all project objectives to ensure they are robust and align with project plans/budget
  • Provide ongoing financial governance through the lifecycle of capital projects, highlighting overspends (or related issues) as soon as they arise
  • Ensure all fixed assets are verified
