Description

Rutherford Cross is delighted to be working with a PLC who have experienced high growth based in the heart of Glasgow to recruit a Credit Controller. In this role, you will have responsibility for credit control, credit risk management, billing and timely collection and allocation of all payments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Timely collection of all payments. Ensuring all debts are chased promptly and effectively by telephone and email and issuing reminder letters
  • Recording all actions taken, follow up calls and actions agreed with the customer on the system
  • Working towards targets for cash collection with the aim to reduce outstanding debt
  • Reconciliation of accounts to ensure statements are accurate and notes are posted to invoices
  • Effectively deal with financial queries and disputes, recording queries and following through to resolution
  • Building strong relationships with customers to ensure excellent customer service
  • Identify potentially problematic accounts, making recommendations as to whether accounts be placed on stop or legal
  • Credit Risk Management, establishing credit limits for new customers and ensuring credit limits are kept current for existing clients
  • Alerting Senior Management to significant changes to credit risk clients and managing bad debt provision
  • Daily balancing of cash receipts
  • Preparing journal entries and AR write offs
  • Ensuring daily cash and email requests are managed
  • Maintenance of unapplied cash records and records for auditing
  • Manage Weekly Debt review meetings and reporting
  • Ad hoc projects

The Candidate:

  • Experience in Accounts Receivable / Credit Control
  • History of Data Analysis within a working environment
  • Employment experience within the utility industry an advantage
  • IT Literacy (Word, Excel etc)
  • Analytical thinker
  • High-quality approach to all work
  • Client Focused
  • Ability to work as part of a team and build strong working relationships with internal contacts
