Description

We have been engaged to conduct a UK wide search for a high potential Tax Partner for this award winning firm of chartered accountants and business advisors.  This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic firm and partner team in a highly successful office -  in a buoyant market.  No previous local client base is required.

Working as a key member of the Partner team based in Aberdeen, the successful candidate will succeed an experienced tax partner who is retiring in the near future. The new Tax Partner will provide proactive and strategic commercial tax advice and compliance to a variety of clients.  The work will predominantly relate to corporate finance, M&A, disposals and reorganisations; many with international elements.  Key stakeholders will be the local corporate finance team and you will also be responsible for a portfolio of corporate clients.

The role requires up to date tax technical skills and the ability to apply these to commercial transactions to optimise the tax position for shareholders and corporates; to work together with other partners in the firm to proactively add value for both the clients and the wider firm; to identify and manage tax risk through engagement with other tax specialists in the firm.

Who we are looking for:

We are interested in speaking to a current Director looking for a first step to Partner level or an established Partner looking to establish themselves in a new market where they can utilise their commercial tax skills.  You will have a proven track record in delivering tax projects within required timeframes, be a strong team player and have experience in coaching and developing others.  Strong presentation, influencing and communication skills are essential.

In return the firm can offer a highly competitive package and equity structure, full relocation assistance and a long term career opportunity.

Aberdeen is one of the most prosperous cities in the UK and has overtaken London as the only UK city to grow during the financial crisis. It is predicted that the oil and gas industry in Aberdeen will continue to grow at an exponential rate over the next 5 years with a predicted 25,000 jobs being created in the oil and gas sector.  This backdrop creates a buoyant environment for professional advisors and means that advisory and consultancy work is readily available.
