Rutherford Cross have been engaged to recruit a Commercial Finance Manager to provide financial and decision support to the Commercial function. This role will influence all areas of commercial investment and expenditure, enhancing profitability and ensuring long term business growth.

The Role
- The role provides all financial guidance necessary relating to the Commercial function by providing
- leadership of the commercial functions financial affairs and supporting the development of
- commercial development proposals.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Manage self and team to provide management and decision support information focused on delivering insight and creating value. This includes, but not limited to, identification and delivery of margin enhancing opportunities, optimising profitability, driving customer profitability, influencing mix and ensuring optimum value from commercial investment
- Produce/review financial evaluations to support both capital and major revenue projects to influence and assist management decisions on the development of the business
- Influence and provide transparent management information for inclusion in Business Plans relating to Net revenue, gross margin and Commercial contribution
- Review and present monthly, quarterly, half-early and annual accounts in summary format for each channel ensuring compliance with the relevant accounting standards function, providing the Group Financial Controller with accurate information for inclusion in management and statutory accounts
- Manage all internal/external audit reviews as required, ensuring timely resolution of any required management actions
The Candidate
The Commercial Finance Manager position requires a professionally qualified accountant who is familiar with working in a fast paced, commercial finance environment
A summary of the key candidate requirements are as follows:
- Qualified Accountant with appropriate post qualification experience
- Relevant Finance experience and experience of supporting the commercial function of a business
- Experience in the analysis of complex financial information using financial modelling tools.
- Experience of working with complex finance systems, preferably ERP based.
- Experience in financial forecasting and planning
- Strong interpersonal skills and a proven track record of being able to present to and influence Senior Management.
- Ability to communicate effectively with and partner non-finance functions. Being a key influencer and valued member of the partner function.
- Sound judgement and ability to make evidence based recommendations.
- Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Ability to develop alternative scenarios for financial/commercial issues
