Rutherford Cross are working in partnership with a leading firm based on the stunning island of Malta to recruit an Audit Senior for their growing and leading audit team.

The role is to join a busy and experienced audit team who cover a variety of clients across investments, funds, banking, general industry and public sector. The role will give exposure to a number of sectors with new experience gained in local regulations and legislations. Working with more junior members, you will lead some audits and also participate within a team on larger audit assignments. This position will expect strong technical capabilities to offer clients expertise and advisory when required.   With Malta’s employment growth rising over the past 6 years, the island is prospering and enjoying new business opportunities and developments. The role will be based in the office in the area of Valletta, the Islands capital. Malta is a stunning island with a mixed historical and modern feel to it. With beautiful bays, vibrant café and wine bar culture with a mixture of restaurants and a multi-cultural population. It’s popular with both visitors and expat workers alike and there is a warm and friendly welcome from the Maltese locals too. The island is independent but is still part of the commonwealth and in the EU.  It offers a high standard of living, as well as low cost of living (in comparison to Western Europe) and also benefits from a low employment tax rate. Within its warm temperatures and its picturesque base in the Mediterranean Sea, it’s a gem in Europe where you can really achieve the standard of life you dream of without compromising your career.

The right person for this role will be a qualified accountant, either CPA / ACCA / CA and will have at least 2 years (ideally 3 to 4) external audit experience, preferably within a large CA firm.  At this stage, only candidates within the EU will be considered.
