Rutherford Cross has been retained by a CALA Group Holdings Ltd, to identify a high calibre Part Qualified Accountant to undertake a key role within the business. CALA represents an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional having displayed strong recent revenue and profit growth, including record profits in 2013/14 and again in 2014/15. Job Description
This is a hands-on finance role that requires an individual with commitment, drive, and ambition. The main focus will be to support the Group Finance Manager; helping achieve deadlines, ensuring that financial controls are in place and applied and that quality information is produced at all times.
Key areas of focus will include:
- Production of Head Office monthly management accounts including journal postings, accruals, cashflow, and variance analysis / commentary
- Check and approve weekly bank reconciliations and supplier payment runs
- Review of systems and controls ensuring ‘best in practice’ financial processes and procedures are in place
- Ensure all balance sheet controls are in place and a monthly control file is maintained
- Assist with year-end accounts preparation and respond to requests for financial information
- Support the Group Finance Manager and provide adhoc financial information and reports (internal and external to CALA) as required
- Ensure compliance with regulations including VAT, SDLT and relevant accounting standards
The Assistant Accountant position is aimed at candidates who are actively studying for their professional exams and currently working within an industry environment. Commercial acumen and an understanding of key business drivers are also essential to be successful in the role.

- CIMA/ACCA part qualified finance professional
