Description

Rutherford Cross is supporting a highly successful Glasgow based company to recruit an Accounts Assistant to join their finance team. The successful candidate will report to the Financial Controller and be responsible for the purchase ledger, supporting month-end and ad hoc projects.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Purchase ledger – Allocating supplier invoices, seeking approval and processing payments
  • Ensuring supplier statements are reconciled
  • Investigating and closing supplier invoice queries
  • Supporting the monthly close and the preparation of monthly accounts and supporting documents
  • Ensuring that all reports are ready before deadlines
  • Working on ad hoc projects, including business rates and water rates management

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant / Accounts Administrator position
  • Familiarity with Sage 50 would be an advantage
  • Experience working with a purchase ledger
  • Attention to detail and strong numerical skills
  • Computer literate with MS Office, Excel
  • Confident communicator with good problem-solving skills
