Rutherford Cross are partnering with the UK’s leading pub, cider and beer company to appoint a UK Tax Manager at the Head Office in Edinburgh.

The primary focus of this role is to provide effective business partnering to colleagues on UK tax matters, including engaging professional advisors to support transactions as appropriate and obtaining clearance from HMRC where necessary.

You will advise and make recommendations to colleagues on tax consequences of business developments and influencing where necessary to ensure that business is conducted in as tax-efficient a manner as possible.

You will coach individuals in the business and shared service centre on tax issues as required, carrying out tax training and education programmes whilst working with business colleagues to drive continuous improvement in processes and procedures and helping to ensure tax-related IT systems are maintained and up to date.

The ideal candidate will be:

• CA/CTA qualified
• Extensive experience within Practice, In-House or HMRC
• Knowledge of all taxes
• Comfortable challenging business decisions in an objective and independent manner
• Ability to organise, plan effectively and work with a high degree of autonomy

Remuneration:

Salary:  Up to £60,000 DOE + benefits allowance  (benefits allowance is 15% of base salary, which can be taken as cash or car allowance)

Bonus: discretionary

Annual Leave:  34 days
