In 2020, I graduated from the University of Aberdeen after studying Business Management and Spanish into a global pandemic and into a whole lot of uncertainty. Opportunities for graduates were few and far between and the future looked very unpredictable. I was fortunate enough to be offered a position as Research Associate at Livingston James Group, and now, one year later, I’m progressing my career with the Group.
After spending a fantastic year in the Research team in Livingston James Executive Search under the Head of Research, Kirsty Sim, I have now been promoted to the Rutherford Cross team to lead the Tax and Treasury specialist markets area. During the past 12 months, honing my skills in talent mapping and candidate attraction has been my focus. I have supported numerous assignments that have required specialist research and worked on some of Livingston James Group’s most high-profile Tax & Treasury appointments with organisations such as Edrington, Forth Ports, Anderson Anderson & Brown LLP, and The Weir Group. A move into the Rutherford Cross team feels like the natural next step.
As I have been building the required knowledge and skills working alongside other Consultants in the business, my interest in the Tax and Treasury markets has grown, and the past year has placed me in an excellent position to be able to support professionals in this space to achieve their career goals, which is what I am passionate about.
Livingston James Group has given me the support and flexibility to learn and to build my career whilst finding my passion. As someone in the early stages of my career, the opportunity to gain experience and move roles within a business such as this one, and to be supported so well whilst doing so, is second to none.
I’m excited to continue my journey with Rutherford Cross and I am focused and motivated to be the market face to the candidate population whilst delivering excellent value through working in partnership with my clients. I will be working closely with Partners and Directors in the profession and Heads of Tax & Treasury from within industry, financial services, and the public sector.
