Sandstone Investment Management is a property investment fund management business, headquartered in Edinburgh with interests in 10 cities across the UK. It is affiliated with Sandstone Property Investment and Management, which supports clients to invest whilst creating safe and affordable, green homes to rent. The Sandstone brand is borne from an impressive 25-year track supporting clients from 40 countries to invest in 3000+ properties which represents a net asset value of approximately £1bn.
In 2021, Sandstone Investment Management launched the Sandstone Residential REIT Plc (SNR) which is listed on The International Stock Exchange in Guernsey (TISE) and is now open to private investors. This has attracted significant interest from client groups in the UK, Europe and Asia. The Sandstone Residential REIT allows clients old and new to invest into a listed fund, benefiting from a booming student rental market, capital gains and corporation tax efficiency, diversification of investment and increased liquidity. Existing clients will be able to move their properties into the REIT.
There are very few residential REITs in the UK, and the Sandstone Residential REIT has been created with large institutional investors in mind. It operates within the student rental market, which has proved resilient, despite the COVID-19 pandemic. The combination of great locations, modern interiors, high-safety features and low-energy costs all results in student tenants typically staying for two to three years. Additionally, there is a focus on sustainability and the organisation is aiming to become carbon positive within the next 12 months.
Sandstone Investment Management is now looking to appoint an experienced Finance Director who will report into the senior management team. This is a pivotal role to the organisation and as such it is particularly important that in addition to the successful candidate’s technical ability there is a focus on personality and team fit. This is a particularly exciting position as there will be the opportunity to support the business through a significant transaction in the coming years.
