Consultant Mark Lewis looks back at Rutherford Cross’ Next Generation CFO programme in 2015, and finishing the year on a high with Standard Life and Aggreko plc.
In early 2013, we launched our ‘Next Generation CFO’ programme, aimed at inspiring and educating finance professionals from all sectors to find out if they have what it takes to be a CFO of the future.
In 2015, the programme has gone from strength to strength, featuring financial heavyweights such as; David Arden, CFO at Sainsbury’s Bank, David Harris, Group Financial Director at BPI plc, Stuart Paterson, CFO at Forth Ports plc, and Alex Stewart, Operating Partner at Clyde Blowers Capital.
At each of these events, our speakers have shared details of their own career journey, as well as given their insight and ‘top tips’ as to how to operate for success in a senior finance role. Feedback from our delegates has been overwhelmingly positive, with many appreciating the chance to hear anecdotes and career lessons directly from the experts.
Our final events of 2015 take place on consecutive days at either side of the country later this month. Firstly we will welcome Carole Cran, CFO of Aggreko plc, world leading suppliers of temporary power and temperature control solutions, who will speak to an audience of aspirant CFOs on Monday 23rd November in Glasgow. On Tuesday 24th November, CFO of Standard Life, Luke Savage will address a similar audience of finance professionals in Edinburgh.
We are delighted to be ending our 2015 programme with CFOs from two highly regarded Scottish headquartered businesses. The events herald the close of a very inspiring 2015 programme and leave us poised for another successful year in 2016.
