Investment Analyst

Provide day‐to‐day support to the Associate Directors and Investment Directors in executing M&A activity and managing existing portfolio investments. Candidates will also have a support role in researching and preparing materials for new acquisition opportunities and maintaining relationships with advisory firms and wider M&A community. Will also be required to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders including peers, leadership group, third party advisors and investee company management teams.

Typically two‐three year post qualification of a professional qualification (e.g accountancy, legal, or tax professions) and will be strong in the following areas:

• Verbal and written communication
• Report writing
• Numeracy and financial modelling
• Analysis
• Experience in using office software products such as Word, Excel and Powerpoint (or equivalent)
• Experience of the M&A transaction process
• General interest in business and knowledge of creating value
• Able to display a balanced level of self confidence

RESPONSIBILITIES

Deal Origination

• Carrying out research and analysis to identify new acquisition opportunities
• Preparing summary reports and presentation of key findings / opportunities / ideas to wider team
• Preparing pitch materials

Investing / M&A

• Performing analysis of and summarising early stage transaction opportunities
• Performing analysis to support the investment and divestment processes
• Preparing financial models and investment appraisal analysis to enable the Associate Directors
• / Investment Directors evaluate proposed transactions
• Scoping due diligence assignments, interpreting due diligence reports and liaising with providers
• Assisting with the preparation of investment papers and other submissions to Investment Committee
• General support to Associate / Investment Directors with all aspects of executing a transaction

Portfolio Investments

• Support Associate / Investment Directors in all forms of portfolio company reporting
• Liaising with portfolio company finance teams to extract and analyse financial and other information
• Drafting performance updates to Investment Committee Markets
• Undertaking research and analysis into key end markets and presenting findings / updates to peers and the leadership group

Fund

• Provide support in preparing quarterly Fund reports to LP investors
• Provide support into quarterly valuation processes including managing data flow and communication with portfolio company finance teams as required
